I grew up in a small town called Snoqualmie, WA in the foothills of the cascade mountains. It was there that I learned to love everything about the outdoors including skiing, white water rafting and kayaking, hunting/fishing and hiking. With both parents being commercial river guides, being in or around rivers took up the majority of the time that I was not on snow. Still, that is how I enjoy spending my time and I hope someday I can find some time to start commercially guiding myself. I got into ski racing independently at age 6 on behalf of my dad's best friend -a former ski racer himself. Those first two years I was traveling with my younger brother, parents, Randy, and his two kids, Tamara and Cameron. At age 8 I joined the local race team, Team Alpental Snoqualmie (TAS), and started training on weekends. At age 13 when I started winning local races, I started taking ski racing seriously and training 4 days a week during the winter. Learning to ski in the Northwest didn't just teach me how to turn around gates, but introduced me to backcountry skiing. At Alpental, I skied around with the local kids and we didn't just stay in-bounds. Alpental's backcountry is full of steep chutes, wide open bowls and a unique serenity. I graduated from Mount Si High School (Snoqualmie, WA) in June 2013, and am currently taking a gap year. I have proudly deferred from the University of Alaska Anchorage where I will eventually go and ski for their D1 NCAA ski team!
I am quirky and outgoing; and other than skiing and rafting I enjoy crossfit, reading, dirt biking and following fashion -although I do sport the ever flattering sweat-suit from time to time. I do not like coming short of my goals, and work hard to meet every single one. With a couple of roller-coaster moments in my life, I believe that everything happens for a reason and there is truly no point in fighting the flow -most of the time.
